Spits add Povorozniouk, trade Verbeek to Kingston

Press Release

General Manager Warren Rychel has made his second trade in less than 48 hours, sending forward Ryan Verbeek to the Kingston Frontenacs in exchange for forward Sam Povorozniouk and Kingston's 4th round draft pick in 2016.

Povorozniouk, 18, was originally Saginaw's 2nd Round pick, 36th overall, in the 2011 OHL Priority Selection. He spent parts of two seasons with the Spirit before being dealt to Kingston, where he recorded career highs in goals (10) and assists (21) in just 48 games in 2012-13.

Povorozniouk is draft eligible this summer and hails from Northbrook, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago.
