Stars forward picks Ohio State University

  Lincoln Stars forward Christian Lampasso has committed to play collegiate hockey at Ohio State University following his USHL career.

Lampasso has tallied nine points (2g, 7a) while appearing in all but one of the 24 games for the Stars so far this season.  It is the second year in the USHL for the 19-year-old after he broke into the League during the 2012-13 season with the Des Moines Buccaneers.  He recorded eight goals over a span of eight games, including back-to-back game-winners, before being dealt to the Sioux City Musketeers in early December 2012.  Over 76 career games in the USHL, the native of Amherst, New York has recorded 33 points (17g, 16a), including five game-winning goals.

Six other players who have competed in the USHL this season will play college hockey at Ohio State University; Christian Frey (Dubuque Fighting Saints), Matt Weis (Green Bay Gamblers), Janik Moeser (Muskegon Lumberjacks), Sam McCormick (Sioux City Musketeers), John Wiitala (Waterloo Black Hawks), and Luke Stork (Youngstown Phantoms).

Ohio State is part of the newly-formed Big Ten Conference and features 14 USHL alumni on the roster this season; Darik Angeli (Tri-City/Chicago/Sioux City), Drew Brevig (Sioux Falls Stampede), Clark Cristofoli (Sioux Falls Stampede), Blake Doerring (Des Moines/Fargo), Ryan Dzingel (Lincoln Stars), Anthony Greco (Des Moines/Waterloo), David Gust (Fargo Force), Matt Johnson (Tri-City/Waterloo), Alex Lippincott (Fargo Force), Tyler Lundey (Dubuque Fighting Saints), Max McCormick (Sioux City Musketeers), Al McLean (Omaha Lancers), Nick Oddo (Omaha/Cedar Rapids), Nick Schilkey (Green Bay Gamblers).
