The Anaheim Jr. Ducks, proud members of the North American
Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL), are pleased to announce that captain
and defenseman Evan Nyhus has signed an NAHL tender agreement with the Janesville Jets. The Jets compete in the NAHL’s North Division.
Nyhus, 17, is in his first full season in the 18U Division with the
Ducks. His 14 points in NAPHL play to date leads all Ducks defenseman
in scoring. Nyhus (6’0/180) is also tied for 5th in scoring among NAPHL
18U defensemen.
The native of Dove Canyon, California is in his second season in
the NAPHL. Last year, he played for the Ducks 16U team and recorded 14
points in 22 games played.
This year, Nyhus and the Ducks are sitting atop of the 18U Division
with a 17-2-0 record heading into the final regular season event in
Troy, Michigan from January 17-20. Nyhus is riding a three-game point
streak heading into the event. He began the season with six points in
his first five games.
He is the third Ducks player to sign an NAHL tender this season
joining teammates Elijiah Barriga (Amarillo) and Paul Boutoussov (Corpus
Christi).
