Eccles acquired from Wolves

Soo Greyhounds General Manager Kyle Dubas announced earlier tonight that the club has completed a transaction with the Sudbury Wolves acquiring 17-year old defenceman DAVID ECCLES.
In exchange the Hounds transfer a conditional 7th Round selection (Barrie’s) in the 2016 OHL Priority Selection.

"David is a player that our hockey staff really liked in his draft year and whom we are excited to acquire today to bolster our defence for the remainder of the season and beyond” explained Greyhounds GM Kyle Dubas.

Eccles, a native of Ancaster, ON was originally selected by the Wolves in the 4th Round of the 2012 OHL Priority Selection.

Over the past two seasons, the 6.03, 200-lb defenceman has appeared in 14 regular season games, and three post-season games with Sudbury while he played most of 2012-13 with the Stoney Creek Warriors of the GOJHL.

In his rookie season with the Warriors he tallied 4 goals and 9 assists in 45 games while playing in all key situations including powerplay and penalty killing.

David was a participant with Sudbury at this past September’s World Junior Cup in Russia.
