Hounds acquire duo from Sting

Press Release

Soo Greyhounds General Manager Kyle Dubas announced that the Program has has completed a deal acquiring forward BRYAN MOORE and defenceman TYLER HORE from the Sarnia Sting in exchange for KEVIN SPINOZZI.

"Today's transaction was done with the sole intention to help both our club and the Sarnia Sting this season and beyond. It is very difficult to part with a young student-athlete like Kevin Spinozzi, but we feel that this deal will allow him to progress greatly in a significant role in Sarnia along the same trajectory that he has shown this season with our Program. Kevin has been an excellent student and member of the community while in Sault Ste. Marie and is a very good prospect for the upcoming NHL Draft. We wish he and his parents (France and Frank) nothing but the best in Sarnia” began the Hounds GM.

Spinozzi, who was originally drafted by the Hounds in 2012, was in his second season with the Program.

"Parting with Kevin was difficult, but necessary for us in order to acquire Tyler Hore and Bryan Moore from the Sting to help our hockey club this season and beyond” said Dubas.

Moore, a 19-year old from indian Trail, NC is in his second season in the Ontario Hockey League.
Originally drafted in the 6th Round of the 2010 OHL Priority Selection, Bryan played two seasons for the Sioux Falls Stampede of the United States Hockey League before joining the Sting.
The 6.0, 199 lb forward  has posted back-to-back seasons with 30+ points and is currently amidst a career best year where he is averaging over a point per game with 11 goals and 22 assists in 30 games played.
Through the month of October and start of November, Moore had an 8-game consecutive point streak where he had 6 goals and 11 assists while he was also on the CSS Preliminary Players to Watch list for November (2014 NHL Entry Draft).

"Bryan has really elevated his performance this season, and is amongst the top 15 forwards in the league in even-strength points per game. Bryan plays the game with great speed and is relentless with the puck in driving it towards the opposition goal and relentless without it in getting it back. Bryan has been a fixture in Sarnia's top scoring group this season and we envision him playing the same role with us here in Sault Ste. Marie” explained Dubas.

"Tyler is a defenceman that our hockey operations staff has liked a lot in all of our viewings. This season he has shown the ability to effectively move the puck up the ice and produce on the power play. As a late 1995 birth in just his 2nd season playing versus excellent competition, Tyler has continued to show excellent potential and we look forward to helping Tyler to maximize his potential in Sault Ste. Marie as a member of our Program” concluded Dubas.
