Kings forward Dorantes secures NCAA future at Ferris State

Press Release

Powell River Kings forward Drew Dorantes has already set new career marks this season for goals and points and now has an NCAA scholarship to Ferris State University as well.

Dorantes has committed to play for the Bulldogs beginning this fall.

The native of Waterford, Michigan has 20 goals and 16 assists for 36 points in 31 games so far on the campaign. This is his second season with the Kings.

It's the second recent commitment to Ferris State by a BCHL player as Corey Mackin inked with the program just prior to Christmas.

The Bulldogs play in the NCAA Div. I Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA). They are currently enjoying a fantastic season with a 10-0-2 mark in conference play which puts them in first place. Former Vernon Vipers star Cory Kane is currently a senior on their roster.
