Lumberjacks obtain Chase Hatcher from the Peterborough Petes

MUSKEGON, Michigan (January 11th) – The Muskegon Lumberjacks have announced that the organization has obtained Forward Chase Hatcher from the Peterborough Petes out of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) prior to the league’s trading deadline at midnight on Friday, January 10th, and he will be making his USHL debut with the Lumberjacks next weekend on the road.

Hatcher, the Haddonfield, New Jersey native, spent the better part of three seasons in the OHL from 2011-14 with the Petes and London Knights totaling 26 points (8 goals and 18 assists) in 127 games played.  Prior to playing in the OHL, Hatcher played 16 games with the London Nationals out of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League (GOJHL) during a portion of the 2011-12 season recording 11 points (4 goals and 7 assists).

Additionally, Hatcher played two-plus seasons with the Team Comcast junior hockey program from 2009-11 accumulating 56 points (27 goals and 29 assists) in 67 games played.  The future Lumberjack was drafted by the London Knights in the eighth-round (145th overall) during the 2010 OHL Priority Selection Draft.

Chase is also the son of former NHL defenseman Derian Hatcher, who played in the National Hockey League for 16 seasons from 1991-2004 and 2005-08 with the Minnesota North Stars, Dallas Stars, Detroit Red Wings, and Philadelphia Flyers.
