Mckeown commits to Bowling Green

Press Release

Wellington Dukes forward Joe McKeown (photo credit - Mike Ivall/OJHL Images) has confirmed his commitment to join the Bowling Green University Falcons beginning with the 2015-16 WCHA season.

The 19-year old native of Campbellford, Ontario started his junior career with his home town Rebels two years ago where he scored 20 goals in just 37 games helping the team capture the Empire B Championship.  Last season he joined the Dukes and had 20 points in 53 games playing a defensively responsible role with the team.  This season he has already matched last years point total in just 34 games while continuing to play strong on the defensive end.

"Joe has worked extremely hard in all areas of his game to improve.  He is a total 200 foot player who can play any style required.  Joe is a very deserving recipient of this opportunity to attend Bowling Green University," stated Dukes General Manager/Head Coach Marty Abrams.

Former player Rusty Hafner is the most recent graduate to attend Bowling Green after helping the Dukes capture their second Dudley-Hewitt Cup title in 2011.

Congratulations to Joe!
