Ustaski leads the way in big weekend for Rivermen, earns POW

Langley Rivermen forward Matt Ustaski has been named the BCHL Player of the Week for the week ending Jan. 5, the league announced Monday.

Ustaski chalked up six points in three games, all wins for the Rivermen as they increased their lead atop the Mainland Division. The native of Glenview, Illinois opened with a pair of goals, including the overtime winner, in a 4-3 victory against Chilliwack and had another game-winner and an assist in a 5-1 win over Surrey where he took 1st Star. The 6-foot-6, 225-pounder finished up with a goal and a helper in a 6-2 win over Cowichan Valley.
