Raising Colborne's #12

Press Release

Another honour is coming for Joe Colborne. His #12 jersey will be retired by the Kodiaks' organization before the February 14th game against the Spruce Grove Saints at Encana Arena. Among Colborne's accomplishments while in a Kodiaks' uniform are being named the Canadian Junior Hockey League Player of the Year in 2008, participating in two RBC Cups, being a unanimous selection to the AJHL's South Division All-League team in 2007-08 and earning the AJHL Playoff MVP award in 2008. In his two seasons in Camrose, Colborne scored 53 goals and added 85 assists for 138 points in the regular season and added 13 goals and 9 assists in 34 AJHL playoff games.

Colborne, who turns 24 on January 30th, will tour schools and businesses during the day prior to the ceremony and will be signing autographs during the intermissions of the game. The current Kodiak players plan to honour Colborne by all wearing #12 during the pre-game warm-up.
