U.S. National Under-17 and Under-18 Teams Named for Respective Five Nations Tournaments

Press Release

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - The U.S. National Under-17 and Under-18 Teams -- part of USA Hockey's National Team Development Program -- will join teams from the Czech Republic, Finland, Russia and Sweden in their respective Five Nations Tournaments next week. The U17 Five Nations Tournament will take place in Sundsvall, Sweden, while the U18 Five Nations event will be held in Dmitrov, Russia.

Schedules for both tournaments can be found along the side of this feature. Full rosters can be found below.

Don Granato, head coach of the Under-17 Team, will lead the U.S. in this tournament for the first time. Granato's previous U17 squad skated in the 2012 Vlad Dzurilla Under-18 Tournament and claimed first place. Team USA did not start sending a team to the Under-17 Five Nations Tournament until last year. Nick Fohr and Josh Brown will serve behind the bench as assistant coaches.

Danton Cole, head coach of the Under-18 Team, leads his second group into the Five Nations Tournament. Cole's previous squad claimed third place at the 2012 Under-18 Five Nations Tournament. John Gruden and Kyle Lawson will assist Cole behind the bench. Kevin Reiter will travel with the U18s as goaltending coach.
