Justin Faulk Commits to Minnesota-Duluth

The Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs got a verbal commitment from 16 year old defenseman Justin Faulk. Faulk is a St. Paul, Minnesota native. Last year he played for the South St. Paul Packers where had five goals and twelve assists as a sophomore. He just participated at the National Select 16's where he had two goals and an assist.

Both Chris Heisenberg and the Western College Hockey Blog are reporting that he will be on the National Team Development Program Under 17 Team. Before he joins the NTDP, he will be heading to the Five Nations Tournament in Prievidza, Slovakia from August 19th to the 24th.

Faulk isn't the first 92 born to verbally commit to the Bulldogs, Mac Carruth committed back in March. He's a goalie that played for the Chicago Fury Major Midgets of the MWEHL where he had a 6-7-2 record with a 2.75GAA and a .895SV%.

At the U-17 Atlantic Evaluation camp in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, 15 year old Darcy Ashley had a very good day. With Team Black he had a goal an assist in the 5-3 win. Darcy verbally committed to the University of Maine for the 2011-2012 season. He's also a top prospect for next year's QMJHL Draft. He played for Rothesay Netherwood Prep in New Brunswick where he had 160 points in 46 contests. Maine has had bad luck with Rothesay Netherwood players. Kevin Gagne committed this past winter but signed with the Saint John Sea Dogs this summer. He's an underager at this camp as the players around him are 16. This camp is in preparation of the World Under 17 Challenge in December.

That's My Take
