Big Weekend For the NTDP

The Under-18 Team and the Under-17 Team had big weekend. The Under-18 team squeaked one by Division III opponent Oswego State 4-3 in overtime. Ryan Bourque (UNH) had the game winner. Jeremy Morin (Uncommitted), John Henrion (UNH), and A.J. Treais (Michigan) were the other goalscorers for the United States. Sunday they faced off against Cornell. They battled to a 3-3 tie. Morin had two goals and David Valek (Michigan) added another tally.

The Under-17 Team swept the Marquette Rangers 4-0 and 3-2. Friday night, they shutout the Rangers. Austin Czarnik (Michigan State), Jacob Fallon (Michigan), Kevin Clare (Uncommitted), and Matthew Nieto (Uncommitted) were the goalscorers. Saturday night it was closer but they pulled the victory out in a shootout. Matthew Nieto (Uncommitted), Stuart Higgins (Maine), Michael Mersch (Wisconsin), and Jason Zucker (Denver) lit the lamp.

Boston University received a commitment from Thayer Academy forward Carlie Coyle for the 2011 season. He's first recruit for the 2011 season but BU has one recruit for next season.

Michigan State got their second commitment for the 2011 season. Reid Boucher of the Lansing Capitals gave a verbal commitment to the Spartans. Appartenly Austin Czarnik will spend a year in the USHL. The Green Bay Gamblers selected him last Tuesday in the Future's Draft. The Western College Hockey Blog and Michigan College Hockey is reporting that Brent Darnell also has made a commitment to East Lansing. Michigan has the best 2010 class so far but Michigan State looks like they will have the best 2011 class.

Miami (OH) received a commitment from St. Michaels Buzzers forward Reilly Smith for the 2010 season.. So far this season, he has 8 goals and 17 assists in 16 games. His brother is Brandon Smith who's a defenseman for the Wisconsin. Brandon is also a Detroit Red Wings prospect.

Dan Delisle committed to Minnesota-Duluth for next season. He's the Bulldogs eighth recruit for next season.
