OHL Trade

Loosepucks.com

The Bulls have picked up overage forward Brandon Mashinter from the Kitchener Rangers along with a second round pick in 2010 and fourth rounder in 2009. The Rangers receive sophomore forward Tyler Randell in the trade. Mashinter has set career highs in goals, assists in points this year as he joins the Bulls with 14 goals and 26 points. Randell picked up 10 goals and 15 points for Belleville this season. On Saturday, Randell scored two goals for the Bulls with Kitchener advance scout Dave Prpich in attendance.

I think this is one of those trades that works for both teams. The Rangers pick up a solid young player as they continue to re-build. The Bulls upgrade their forward unit now, while also getting some draft choices back so I don't think this deal mortgages as much future as some moves we see when veterans are moved for youth and vice versa.
