Green Bay sets record

Press Release

The Green Bay Gamblers held their 10th-annual "Teddy Bear Toss" on Saturday, February 21, and once again the team has shattered their own record. A total of 6,021 bears were collected, breaking their previous best of 5,612 bears, set last season. The event, one of the most anticipated nights annually on the Gamblers' schedule, was sponsored by State Farm Insurance.

Michael Forney did the honors, scoring the first goal of the game for Green Bay, on a power play at 4:51 of the first period.

The Gamblers also set a franchise attendance record, as 6,785 people made their way through the Resch Center turnstyles. The previous mark of 6,578 was set on February 23, 2007, also a "Teddy Bear Toss" night.

All of the new bears will be given to pediatric patients at Aurora BayCare Medical Center. The used bears will be donated to various charity groups throughout Northeast Wisconsin.
