OHL Round-Up

In Windsor, Adam Henrique and Ben Shutron scored late in the third period and then Eric Wellwood scored 8:52 into overtime to lift the Spitfires to a 5-4 win over the London Knights in Game 3 of the Rogers Western Conference Championship Series on Sunday.

Windsor leads the Series 2-1 with Game 4 on Monday in London. All three games in the series have gone to overtime.

Scott Timmins opened the scoring for the Spitfires, who also had a goal from Conor O’Donnell while Ryan Ellis added two assists.

John Tavares tied the game in the first period and then Dominic DeSando, Phil Varone and Justin Taylor all scored in the third period to give the Knights a 4-2 lead. Tavares and Nazem Kadri also had two assists in the loss.

Andrew Engelage got the win in the Spitfires’ net after allowing four goals on 31 shots and Trevor Cann gave up five goals on 40 shots for London.

Game Summary

Belleville Bulls 6, Brampton Battalion 2

In Belleville, Nick Palmieri scored three goals and added two assists to pace the Bulls to a 6-2 win over the Brampton Battalion in Game 3 of the Rogers Eastern Conference Championship Series.

Brampton leads the series 2-1 and host Game 4 on Tuesday.

Shawn Lalonde had two goals and an assist for the Bulls while Brandon Mashinter also scored in a four-goal second period for the Bulls. Matt Tipoff picked up two assists in the win.

Mike Murphy allowed two goals on 29 shots in the win while Thomas McCollum gave up six goals on 33 shots for Brampton.
