Memorial Cup Field Set

Press Release

DRUMMONDVILLE, Que. - Yannick Riendeau scored twice and Marco Cousineau made 45 saves as the Drummondville Voltigeurs won 3-2 over the Shawinigan Cataractes Tuesday in Game 7 in QMJHL playoff final.

Drummondville's victory completes the field for the 2009 Memorial Cup in Rimouski, Que., which begins May 15.

Other teams in the field include the WHL's Kelowna Rockets, OHL's Windsor Spitfires and the QMJHL's Rimouski Oceanic.

At Drummondville, Riendeau opened the scoring at 10:38 of the first period on a feed from Mike Hoffman. At 14:52, Hoffman made it 2-0 with a power-play marker, with Riendeau adding an assist on the goal.

Shawinigan's Alex Grant cut the deficit to 2-1 early in the second on a power-play goal, but Riendeau restored the two-goal cushion one minute 32 seconds later with his 29th of the playoffs at 2:52.

Matthew Pistilli pulled the Cataractes to within one at 5:11, but that's as far as Shawinigan would get.

Gabriel Girard made 24 saves for the Cataractes.
