At-Large field announced

The North American Hockey League (NAHL) announced today the at-large field for its Future Prospects Tournament, which will be held September 17-20, 2009 at the Schwan Super Rink in Blaine, Minn.

Twenty-four teams at the Midget Major (eight teams), Midget Minor (eight) and Bantam Major (eight) levels will compete at the event, which will be held in conjunction with the seventh annual NAHL Showcase Tournament and the first tournament of the inaugural North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) season.

The Future Prospects Tournament, which utilizes the USA Hockey Officiating Development Program, is a four-game guarantee with all game scores and statistics provided by Pointstreak.

Teams not accepted into the tournament will have their application fee refunded.

The NAHL Showcase Tournament has evolved into one of hockey’s most prestigious and well-attended events of the entire season. For scouting purposes, the Showcase is a can't-miss for every NCAA program and NHL team as they get their first look at some of the best and brightest hockey talent North America has to offer.
