Colts sign 2008 4th Rounder

Press Release

Barrie, ON- The Barrie Colts have officially announced today that they have signed their 2008 fourth round draft pick (66th overall) Dean Pawlaczyk.

The Michigan native spent last season with the Traverse City North Stars of the North American Hockey league. He was previously with Belle Tire AAA minor midget in the Midwest Elite Hockey League.

“Well with Dean we feel we are getting a future piece that should be an important part of our club,” said Colts head coach Marty Williamson. “He is a very hard-working forward who gives 100% every shift. He is a nasty player to play against, he’s a team-first kind of guy and he definitely brings a lot of grit to the table.”

Dean chose to report to Barrie despite being heavily recruited from several NCAA schools, such as Michigan State. The 5’11” forward will be attending Innisdale Secondary School while he is a member of the Colts.
