Klippenstein is named Director of Player Personnel

Press Release

Prince George, BC – The Prince George Cougars announce Assistant General Manager Wade Klippenstein will also be taking on the role as the hockey club’s Director of Player Personnel.

Klippenstein is entering his third season as a member of the Cougars staff. Along with his role as Assistant GM, Klippenstein also served on the bench the past two seasons, first as Assistant Coach, then assuming the Head Coaching role in December 2008. Prior to being hired by the Cougars, Klippenstein served as a head scout for the Moose Jaw Warriors and was a key recruiter for his alma mater, the University of Alaska Fairbanks.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for me to work alongside Dallas Thompson and Dean Clark to help build a championship caliber team,” said Klippenstein. “I have had a desire to take on more of the management side of player personnel and I’m really looking forward to this role I have accepted with the team.”

The Cougars also announce the hiring of two more scouts to the staff: Rob Larkey of Anchorage, Alaska and Jeff Odgers from Spy Hill, Saskatchewan.
