Oil Barons make a trade

Press Release

It may be the off-season but the Oil Barons are busy preparing for next season. The MOB have shipped veteran forward Dave Carr to the St. Albert Steel for a pair of ‘91 born players.

In exchange for Carr and Future Considerations the Barons picked up forwards Justin Rose and Markus Gerbrandt. Both Rose and Gerbrandt are 18 years old.

In 19 regular season games as a 17 year old last year Rose scored two goals and had two assists.

Gerbrandt spent last year playing Midget AAA with C.A.C. in Edmonton. In 34 games Gerbrandt had 16 goals and 9 assists for 25 points. He did show some power-play finish as 11 of his goals came on the man advantage.

Carr spent three seasons with the Oil Barons scoring 30 goals in 152 games. Last season was his most productive with the team as he finished with 34 points in 61 games. Dave will join his younger brother Daniel in St. Albert.
