Pleau's contract is extended

Press Release

Edmonton, AB -- Edmonton Oil Kings General Manager Bob Green announced today that head coach Steve Pleau has signed a three-year extension through the 2011-2012 season.

"We are excited to have Steve on board for another three years. He has done an excellent job with this young club in its first two seasons, and we feel as an organization that he is the coach we need to take our team to the next level," said Green.

"This is a great opportunity for me and my family," Pleau said. "We are very happy to be in Edmonton. This is a first-class organization and I look forward to taking this team to the next step both on and off the ice."

Steve Pleau is 51-73-20 in his first two seasons with the Edmonton Oil Kings. He guided the Oil Kings to a play off berth in their second season after winning a tie-breaker in Prince Albert. The Oil Kings lost in the first round to the Calgary Hitmen 4-0.
