The Islanders signed goaltender Mikko Koskinen on Monday to a three-year, entry-level deal.
Koskinen played the last two seasons in the Finnish Elite League, playing for the Espoo Blues. The 6’5”, 182 pound net-minder had a 17-9-7 record and a 1.91 goals against average and a .932 save percentage.
Koskinen, a native of Vantaa, Finland, was selected in the second round, 31st-overall by the Islanders last month in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
