USHL Fall Classic Schedule Released

Press Release

The United States Hockey League (USHL) and Sioux City Musketeers announced today the schedule for the 2009 USHL Fall Classic, scheduled for September 24-26 in Sioux City, Iowa. It will be the third consecutive season that the Fall Classic will be hosted by the Musketeers.

All 14 USHL Member Clubs will participate in the preseason event. Games will be played at both the Tyson Events Center’s Gateway Arena and the IBP Ice Center.

The Fall Classic is one of the most highly scouted events in all of hockey as each team will play three games during the weekend in front of scouts from every NHL club and Division I college hockey program as well as coaches from Division III institutions.

“The Classic is one of the USHL’s signature events – and the most scouted junior hockey event in the world,” said USHL Commissioner Skip Prince. “Thanks to the hard work of Jim Kronschnabel, the Musketeers, and the city, it’s also a great fan-friendly experience. If you love hockey, there’s not a better place to be in America in late September than Sioux City, Iowa.”

“The Sioux City Musketeers, the City of Sioux City, our fans, and over 200 volunteers are very excited and are preparing with much anticipation for the 2009 USHL Fall Classic,” said Jim Kronschnabel, President of the Sioux City Musketeers. “With a great deal of help and input from scouts, teams, coaches, and fans, we have found ways to improve the event each year. Our goal is to showcase the tremendous talent in the USHL to the 200-plus NHL and college scouts who will be in attendance. We are proud to again host the most widely scouted hockey event in the world.”
