DRUMMONDVILLE, Friday, July 17, 2009 - Dominic Ricard, the General Manager of the Drummondville Voltigeurs, today announced the hiring of Mario Duhamel as the franchise’s new head coach.
The former Rouyn-Noranda assistant coach signed a three-year contrat with the club.
Duhamel has been actively involved in hockey since 1995. Following four seasons in the Quebec Midget AAA League with the Collège Charles-Lemoyne Riverains, he joined the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies where he acted as both assistant coach and assistant general manager on André Tourigny’s staff.
Moreover, the Voltigeurs’ GM also announced that assistant coach Danny Brooks has accepted a three-year contract extention which will keep him in Drummondville until the end of the 2011-12 season.
