Chilliwack names Hay as an Assistant

Press Release

Chilliwack, B.C. -- The Chilliwack Bruins are pleased to announce the hiring of Chilliwack resident Peter Hay as Assistant Coach. Hay rejoins the Bruins in a full time capacity after spending the 2006-07 with the club as part time Assistant Coach.

“We’re excited to bring Peter back to the organization,” said Bruins General Manager and Head Coach Marc Habscheid. “Bringing in Peter as a full time assistant rounds out our coaching staff nicely. He has a passion for teaching and hockey which will be a great benefit to our players.”

Hay, who earned a Bachelor of Education Degree from the University of British Columbia Peter most recently held down a teaching position at Chilliwack Middle School and was coach of the Chilliwack Chargers Canadian Hockey Skills Academy. Hay is also the head trainer and coach of Pro Vision Hockey Schools.

"I am very excited to be back and part of such a professional organization in a full time role. I am very lucky to have the Chilliwack school district and my family supporting me on this as it is a dream to be back at the elite level for I have missed being around this environment since my playing days in the college and pro ranks. I look forward to learning under the highly experienced coaches of Marc Habscheid and Bob Rouse while being able to contribute to helping the Bruins become a competitive team that fans will enjoy watching."
