Giants and Rebels make a trade

Vancouver BC – Vancouver Giants General Manager Scott Bonner today announced that the Giants have acquired 17 year old LW Connor Redmond from the Red Deer Rebels in a one for one trade. The Giants get the Maple Ridge BC product in return for LW Lane Scheidl.

Redmond (May 3 1992) is 6’1’’ and 180 pounds, and has 2 assists in 13 games this season with Red Deer, he also has 14 penalty minutes and is -5. Redmond was the Rebels first round pick in the 2007 Bantam Draft, 11th overall. Scheidl scored twice and had 5 points in 22 games with the Giants.

Giants Head Coach Don Hay says “We are excited to welcome Connor to our team, he was a high draft pick, and has a lot of talent, and being from the area, he will be excited to play in front of family and friends.” Hay added “We thank Lane for his time as a Giant and wish him the best in Red Deer, we feel this is a trade that is a good fit for both players and both teams”

Redmond, the son of former NHL player Craig Redmond will join the Giants in time for tonight’s game against the Portland Winterhawks.
