Thompson commits Yale University in 2011

Press Release

The Vernon Vipers would like to congratulate defenseman Adam Thompson on his scholarship commitment to Yale University for the 2011/12 season.

The Calgary, Alberta native joined the Vipers at the beginning of the 2008/09 campaign and totalled seven goals and 15 assists in his 59 games as a rookie in the BCHL. He then suited up for 17 games on Vernon's Fred Page Cup championship run, scoring once and adding five assists in 17 games. He also played a key role in his team's runs to the Doyle and RBC Cups.

Thompson is well on his way to shattering his first-year offensive numbers as a sophomore, having scored twice and added 10 assists in 26 games played.

The 19-year old will join a strong contingent of BCHL alumni at Yale. There are currently six graduates of the league suiting up for the Bulldogs, including former Trail Smoke Eaters captain Kevin Limbert.
