Wildcats acquire Gabriel Bourque

Moncton, NB – The Moncton Wildcats announced today that they have acquired 19 year old left winger Gabriel Bourque from the Baie Comeau Drakkar. In exchange the Drakkar receive from the Wildcats player Raphael Bussières and a first round draft pick in 2010.

Bourque, who is currently in Regina as a member of Team Canada for the upcoming World Junior Hockey Championships, has 13 goals and 25 assists in 30 games for Baie-Comeau this season. Bourque will join the Wildcats following the World Junior Hockey Championships which concludes on January 5th, 2010.

“We are trilled to add Gabriel to the Wildcats he will bring skill, grit and leadership to our team”, says Danny Flynn Head Coach & Director of Hockey Operations.

The Wildcats also acquired today the rights of 18 year old Alex MacDonald from the Halifax Mooseheads in exchange for a 12th round draft pick in 2010.

The Wildcats will return to action following the Christmas break in Halifax on December 27th and will host Saint John in a Rivalry cup game scheduled for New Years Eve at 7pm at the Coliseum.
