Huskies will appeal Commissioner’s decision

Press Release

BOUCHERVILLE, Friday, February 26, 2010 - The Rouyn-Noranda Huskies today confirmed that they are appealing the decision rendered by the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Commissioner in the case of Huskies' forward Patrice Cormier. The appeal will be heard by an independent arbitrator.

The QMJHL Board of Governors have submitted a list of three potential candidates. Once the mandate has been accepted by one of the arbitrators, the appeals process will begin. A hearing will be held in the upcoming weeks.

"The Rouyn-Noranda Huskies have exercised their right to appeal, which is a right granted to them by the League's Constitution," said the Commissioner. "This right exists as a last resort."
