NAPHL announces U16 individual award winners

The North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) has announced its Top Forward, Top Defenseman and Top Goaltender in the U16 division for the 2009-10 season.

Gabe Guertler of the Florida Panthers Alliance has been named the Top Forward. Guertler, from Plantation, Fla., led the U16 division in scoring with 19 goals for 34 points in 20 regular-season games.

The Thunder National’s Jesse Kessler has been named the Top Defenseman. Kessler, from Franklin, Tenn., led all NAPHL blueliners in scoring with 20 points (four goals) in 19 regular-season games.

Brady Johnson of the U16 champion Pikes Peak Miners has been named the Top Goaltender. Johnson, from Colorado Springs, Colo., posted an 11-1 record in 12 regular-season appearances to compliment a NAPHL-best 1.38 goals-against average and a .905 save percentage.
