Saskatoon Blades Sign Goaltending Prospect Adam Todd

Press Release

Saskatoon, SK -- The Saskatoon Blades Hockey Club is very pleased to announce the signing of one of their top goaltending prospects…Adam Todd…to a Western Hockey League Education Contract.

The Blades chose Todd, who calls Courtenay, B.C. home, in the 4th round of the 2009 W.H.L. Bantam Draft, 86th overall.

“We are extremely pleased to get Adam Todd under contract,” said Blades’ Assistant General Manager Jarrod Brodsky. “Adam has shown us that he has the potential to become a very good goaltender for our organization. He had a great season last year playing Midget for the Pursuit of Excellence and we expect him to compete for a spot
on the team this upcoming season.”

Todd is 16 years old and a 6’3”, 163 lb. left-hand catching netminder. No statistics were available for him from this past season with the Pursuit of Excellence “AAA” Midget team based out of Kelowna.

“I think Adam couldn’t have been drafted by a better team,” said Adam’s father, Howie Todd.”They, obviously believe in goalies from what I see on the roster. School is very important to us. The Western Hockey League has an Education program that, the way it is set up, you just can’t beat it.”

“We would like to welcome Adam and his family to the Blades’ organization,” added Brodsky.

Blades’ training camp opens August 25 in Martensville.
