Mooseheads Announce Alumni Game vs Halifax Regional Police

Press Release

The Mooseheads announced today that they will be hosting the first Halifax Mooseheads Alumni Game on Sunday, August 22rd at 2pm at the Halifax Forum when they take on members of the Halifax Regional Police. The Alumni game will take place prior to the Mooseheads Exhibition Home Opener against the Saint John Sea Dogs at 4:30pm. Proceeds from the Alumni game will go towards Special Olympics and the Diana Thorton Education Fund. This event was planned for last summer but was cancelled due to weather conditions.

"This will be a fun event to kick off a highly anticipated season in Moose Country " stated Brian Urquhart, Halifax Mooseheads Vice President Business Operations. "It will be great to see some of the Mooseheads fan favorites of the last 16 seasons back on the ice together".

"Our involvement with the Halifax Mooseheads goes back to their inaugural year in 1994 through the One on One program," stated Superintendant Stephen Sykes of the Halifax Regional Police. "We're very excited to be part of what promises to be a great family and community-focused event. We are not taking this challenge lightly and have been working hard behind the scenes to ensure that we are a formidable opponent."

A pre-game BBQ will also take place just outside the Forum at 1pm with proceeds going to Special Olympics Halifax. Mooseheads players will be on hand at the BBQ to mingle with fans and sign autographs. Player rosters for both teams will be announced in the weeks leading up to the event.

Tickets, which include both admission to the Alumni game and the Exhibition game against Saint John, are just $7 each. Admission is free for children 12 years of age and under.

Advanced tickets for this event are available starting August 10th at the Antlers Merchandise Store, located across from the Metro Centre's Ticket Atlantic Box Office. Tickets will also be available at the Halifax Forum Box Office on gameday. More information on the event will be released on www.halifaxmooseheads.ca in the coming weeks.
