Seven QMJHL players selected for the NHL Research, Development and Orientation Camp

Press Release

BOUCHERVILLE, Tuesday, August 10, 2010 - Seven players from the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League have been picked for this year’s National Hockey League Research, Development and Orientation Camp that will take place in Etobicoke, Ontario, at the Toronto Maple Leafs’ training facilities, from August 17th to August 19th.

The selections were based on the actual QMJHL Central Scouting rankings for next year’s draft class. The players are projected to be top picks in the NHL 2011 draft.

To minimize the impact of their absence from their respective teams, Brendan Shanahan, VP Hockey and Business Development, said that the NHL will make sure that the travel schedule allows them to participate in their training camps for as long as possible to ensure minimal disruption.

Here is the list of the seven players selected:

- Sean Couturier (Drummondville)
- Xavier Ouellet (Montreal)
- Jonathan Huberdeau (Saint John)
- Zack Phillips (Saint John)
- Nathan Beaulieu (Saint John)
- Tomas Jurco (Saint John)
- Gabriel Beaupré (Val-d’Or)
