WHL AND FSN ANNOUNCE BROADCAST

Calgary, AB. - The Western Hockey League (WHL) and FSN Northwest today announced the 10-game broadcast schedule that will bring LIVE WHL action into 3.4 million homes across five U.S. states during the 2010-11 WHL Regular Season. The WHL and FSN Northwest are in their second season of a multi-year broadcast agreement in which FSN Northwest will serve as the WHL’s exclusive Northwest cable home through the 2011-12 WHL season.

One of the premier development League’s in the World, the Western Hockey League will once again showcase the top rated NHL prospects throughout the season.

“The FSN Northwest broadcast schedule will once again allow the WHL to showcase out top NHL prospects to a broad U.S. television audience,” commented WHL Commissioner Ron Robison, “This season’s schedule will feature a highly competitive WHL U.S. Division and the first ever outdoor game in WHL history.”

“The WHL has done a tremendous job of building a loyal and dedicated fan base and we look forward to having the opportunity to reward those fans while also building a new audience in showcasing the league’s talent to the viewers across FSN Northwest’s five-state region,” stated Mark Jorgensen, Senior Vice President/General Manager of FSN Northwest.

The 2010-11 WHL on FSN Broadcast schedule will feature all five WHL U.S. based Clubs: Everett Silvertips, Portland Winterhawks, Seattle Thunderbirds, Spokane Chiefs and Tri-City Americans. The 2010-11 WHL on FSN television broadcast schedule begins Friday, January 14th as the Seattle Thunderbirds host WHL U.S. Division rivals the Everett Silvertips at the ShoWare Center in Kent, WA. The schedule also includes coverage of the Rockstar Outdoor Hockey Classic on Saturday, January 15th, 2011 at Avista Stadium as the Spokane Chiefs host the Kootenay Ice in the WHL’s first ever outdoor game.
