DESTRY STRAIGHT COMMITS TO BC

Press Release

The Coquitlam Express are pleased to announce that 17 year old Destry Straight has committed to Boston College.

Straight has had many eyes on him since the NHL Central Scouting released their list in October and put him at the top in category A as a player to go first round in next years draft. With all the attention and a good start to the season, 10G & 18A in 27 games, Destry had a few options but is very happy with settling on Boston College.

The NCAA Division 1 hockey program is lead by head coach Jerry York and has appeared in 6 Frozen Four Finals since 2001, winning 3 championships, including last year.

Coquitlam head coach Jon Calvano thinks it's "great that Destry is going to a top 3 ranked school for both athletics and education". It is unknown at this time which year Destry will join the Boston College roster.

Ice chips: Destry Straight is the third Express player this year to commit, Garrick Perry (Alaska Fairbanks), Brad Reid (Rochester Institute of Technology)
