Knowles' nose for net earns him POW award

Press Release

Salmon Arm SilverBacks forward Brett Knowles has been named the British Columbia Hockey League's Player of the Week for the week ending November 28, the league announced Monday.

The Vanderhoof native is now averaging more than a point a game after a week that saw him collect four goals and four assists as Salmon Arm swept their three-game northern road trip.

Knowles recorded a goal and an assist in the SilverBacks' 5-4 win in Quesnel to start the trip but the best was yet to come as he erupted for five points and a hat trick the next night in a 7-4 triumph, also against Quesnel.

The 5-foot-11, 180-pound forward found the scoresheet again versus Prince George as Salmon Arm finished up with a 6-3 win.

Honourable mentions this week go to Nanaimo Clippers foward Sam Labrecque (four goals, two first star nods), Westside Warriors forward Grayson Downing (two goals, five assists and two first star nods) and Salmon Arm forward David Killip (two goals, six assists).
