Dave Labrecque, Samuel Carrier and Andrew Hayes are the TELUS three stars of the week

BOUCHERVILLE, Monday, January 31, 2011 – Forward Dave Labrecque, defenseman Samuel Carrier as well as goaltender Andrew Hayes were named today the TELUS three stars of the week from January 24 to January 30, 2011.

Shawinigan Cataractes center Dave Labrecque is the first star of the week. The forward registered two goals and six helpers for a total of eight points while posting a +5 rating in three games, resulting in three wins against the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies, the Val-d’Or Foreurs and the Drummondville Voltigeurs. He was named the first star of the game last Wednesday against the Huskies, registering one goal and four helpers while maintaining a +4 rating. He was also named the second star of the game against the Foreurs after scoring one goal and adding one assist.

Lewiston MAINEiacs defenseman Samuel Carrier is the second star of the week after he collected six assists in two games. Carrier also managed to post a +5 rating. He was named the first star of the game last week against Rimouski after registering three helpers. The MAINEiacs orchestrated a magnificent comeback, winning the game 5-4 after initially falling behind 4-1.

Finally, Andrew Hayes is the TELUS third star of the week. The Cape Breton Screaming Eagles backstop collected two wins in two games with stellar performances against both Baie-Comeau and Montreal. He finished the week with a 0.50 goals-against-average and a .982 save percentage by stopping 54 of the 55 shots he faced. Hayes also registered a shutout against the Montreal Juniors last Saturday.
