Morrissey to Make WHL Debut Wednesday

Prince Albert, Saskatchewan- 15 year-old defenceman Josh Morrissey, the Prince Albert Raiders first round selection, 6th overall in the 2010 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft will make his WHL debut this Wednesday when the Raiders host the Medicine Hat Tigers at 7:00 PM at the Art Hauser Centre.

Morrissey, who plays for the Calgary Royals in the Alberta Midget Hockey League, competed this past weekend at the AMHL All-Star game in Fort Saskatchewan, after being selected by the coaches as a First Team All-Star for the Southern Division. Although he is the only 15 year old on the Royals roster, he is leading the team in scoring as a defenceman with 15 goals and 21 assists for 36 points in 26 games to go along with 40 minutes in penalties. Morrissey is 13th overall in AMHL scoring. The Royals are currently 4th in the AMHL South Division with a 14-8-7 record.

As a 15 year-old Morrissey is allowed to dress for 5 games with the Raiders as the schedule for the Royals permits. Wednesday it works out the Royals are not in action, so Morrissey will skate for the first time at the Art Hauser Centre.
