Oiler Reynolds Commits to University of Vermont

The Okotoks Oilers are pleased to announce that forward Kyle Reynolds has committed to the University of Vermont Catamounts for the 2011/2012 season.

Kyle has played a big part in the Oilers success helping them clinch 1st place in the AJHL South Division for the second year in a row. This season, Reynolds captured the first AJHL Scoring Title for the Okotoks Oilers leading the AJHL with 38 goals and 78 points, an average of 1.6 points per game in 2010-2011.

Reynolds was also a finalist for the League MVP Award and was recently selected to the 2010-2011 AJHL South Division All-League Team. Reynolds (Sylvan Lake, AB) has set new Okotoks Oilers franchise records for Most Career Goals (79) and Most Career Points (165) and has also tied the franchise record for Most Points in a Single Season (78).

Coach James Poole stated, "Kyle has had a very impressive junior career and is very deserving of the accolades he has received this season. Kyle is not just an elite hockey player but also a quality person that has been a positive role model for our younger players, and a great ambassador to the Okotoks Oilers hockey program. The entire organization is very proud of Kyle and wishes him continued success in the future at the University of Vermont"

Based in Burlington, Vermont, the University of Vermont Catamounts compete in the NCAA's Hockey East Conference. Notable Catamount alumni include several NHL past & present stars like John LeClair, Martin St. Louis, Tim Thomas & Patrick Sharp.

The Oilers organization would like to thank Kyle for his outstanding commitment to the Oilers organization for the past three years and look forward to Kyle's continued contributions through the 2011 playoffs.
