Sean Couturier, Olivier Roy and Louis Leblanc named TELUS three stars of the week

Press Release

Forwards Sean Couturier and Louis Leblanc as well as goaltender Olivier Roy today were named the TELUS three stars of the week for the period extending from February 14 to 20.

Drummondville Voltigeurs forward Sean Couturier is the first star after registering five goals in only two games. Couturier was dominant in a 4-1 victory over the Remparts at Colisée Pepsi on Tuesday, scoring a hat-trick. Unsurprisingly, he was named the game’s first star. A few days later, he netted a pair of goals in a 6-0 victory over the Huskies. He closed out the week with a +4 rating.

Acadie-Bathurst Titan goaltender Olivier Roy is the second star following a week in which he helped the Titan earn wins over the Foreurs, the Tigres and the Cataractes. He maintained a 1.30 goals-against-average and .957 save percentage over the three-game span. Roy was at his best yesterday, pushing away 30 shots in a 3-0 victory over Shawinigan to post his 14th career shutout, one shy of the all-time record held by Ryan Mior (15).

Montreal Juniors forward Louis Leblanc is the third star after collecting three goals and three assists in three wins which occurred over a three-day span. Leblanc played his best game on Sunday, recording three points in a 7-1 victory over the Huskies. The Montreal Canadiens’ draft pick was certainly consistent, scoring a goal in each game while posting a +3 rating.
