Coulee Region's Blomquist decides on Bentley

Press Release

The Coulee Region Chill has announced that defenseman Matt Blomquist has committed to Bentley University (Atlantic Hockey) for the 2012-13 season.

Blomquist, a 20-year-old from Blaine, Minn., posted seven goals for 34 points in 57 regular-season games this past season. He put home three points (two goals) in nine postseason games.

"Bentley is getting not only a top defenseman in our league, but a quality individual," said Chill head coach Garrett Strot. "Matt was a big key to our success this year. He's very poised with the puck and, in the playoffs, really started bringing a physical presence."

Blomquist, who competed in the first North American Hockey League (NAHL) Top Prospects Tournament of the season which was held in Massachusetts in December, is expected to return to Coulee Region next season.

"We're looking forward to having Matt back another year as he prepares himself for Bentley in 2012," said Strot.

Bentley is located in Waltham, Mass.
