Press Release

OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators announced today that the club has signed forward Louie Caporusso to a two-year entry-level contract.

A Toronto native, Caporusso recently completed his fourth and final season of college eligibility with the Central Collegiate Hockey Association’s University of Michigan Wolverines, who he helped reach the NCAA championship game (Frozen Four final) on April 9 in St. Paul, Minn.

Caporusso played in 41 games this season, scoring 11 times and adding 20 assists, while recording 22 penalty minutes. He served as Michigan’s alternate team captain this past season. In four years with the Wolverines, he recorded 144 points (68 goals, 76 assists) while registering 96 penalty minutes in 160 games. He ranked second in team scoring in each of his sophomore, junior and senior seasons.

Originally drafted by the Senators in the third round (90th overall) in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, Caporusso has participated in the team’s annual development camp in each of the last four summers.
