Caps Acquire NOJHL Goaltending Leader

The Cowichan Valley Capitals announce they have acquired top NOJHL goaltender Michael Doan from the Soo Thunderbirds.

Doan will play the 2011-12 season with the Caps before moving on to Northern Michigan University on a NCAA Div. 1 Scholarship.

The 6'4", 220 lb netminder will be a welcome addition to the Capitals. In the 10/11 season Doan went 25-8-2 with a 2.66 goals against average. The Sault Ste. Marie native finished his season with a 0.916 save percentage.

"The Capitals are happy to be bringing another quality goaltender on board," said General Manager Jim Ingram. "We look forward to Michael's arrival in the Valley in August."
