Cougars Sign Jordan Harris

The Prince George Cougars are proud to announce the signing of defenceman Jordan Harris to a standard Western Hockey League contract.

Harris was the Cougars first pick in the 2011 WHL Bantam Draft. The Cougars selected the 6’1”, 170 pound product of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, 10th overall. Harris is the fifth consecutive first round selection that has signed with the Cougars and is the third defenceman in the last four years that the Cougars have picked in the first round.

Harris helped lead the Prince Albert Pirates to the Saskatchewan Bantam AA Championship in the 2010-11 season. Harris collected 10 goals and 24 assists for 34 points in 23 regular season games for the Pirates, while adding 28 penalty minutes.

“We’re very excited about signing Jordan. He’s a player that we believe is among the most elite defenceman in Western Canada and, more importantly, he’s exactly what we need,” said Klippenstein. “When you look at our 1995 class of kids, we drafted a lot of forwards very high. This year we felt we needed a big, skilled defenceman and he was available. We’re very happy that he’s now officially in the Cougars family.”
