HAWKS ADD NETMINDER FROM AJHL

Press Release

The Nipawin Hawks have added a goaltender to their stable after a trade with the Fort McMurray Oil Barons of the Alberta Junior Hockey League.

The team has sent 1992 born forward Jamie Johnson (Edmonton, AB) to Fort MacMurray for 1992 born netminder Davis Jones (Edmonton, AB)

Johnson had 27 points in 44 games last year and it was hoped he could improve on those numbers for the Hawks this season, but Head Coach Doug Johnson says he was moved for family reasons.

In Jones, the team gets a goalie that went 11-3 in a backup role last year with a goals against average of 2.26 and two shutouts. Johnson is excited to have someone of Jones’ caliber in the organization and is looking forward to having assistant coach Chad McLeod—a former goalie—work with him and his two returnees Stephen Klein and Brody Hoffman.
