OHL Announces 2011-12 Exhibition Schedule

Toronto, ON – The Ontario Hockey League today announced the exhibition game schedule for the 2011-12 season.

The schedule includes 50 games beginning on Friday September 2, 2011, and wrapping up on Sunday September 18, 2011.

Highlights of the 2011-12 exhibition game schedule include six games to be played away from home OHL rinks beginning with the Mississauga St. Michael’s Majors hosting the Guelph Storm on September 8 at Iceland Arena. The Majors will also play at Port Credit Arena on September 10 when they host the Peterborough Petes, and at Vic Johnston Arena in Streetsville when they host the Owen Sound Attack on September 17. Other off-site games include the Belleville Bulls hosting the Kingston Frontenacs in Wellington on September 10, the same day that the Erie Otters host the Attack in Woodstock, and the Plymouth Whalers host the London Knights at the St. Thomas Timken Centre.

The 680-game OHL regular season opens on Wednesday September 21 when the Robertson Cup Champion Owen Sound Attack host the Plymouth Whalers.
