The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League announces a partnership with the Joël Bouchard Hockey Academy

The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League is proud to announce today, a new partnership with the Joël Bouchard Hockey Academy. The partnership will officially take off during the Combine, which will be held from April 22nd to the 24th 2011 at the Centre d’Excellence Sports Rousseau in Boisbriand.

“Our goal is to create programs and workshops to improve players’ technical and tactical development in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League,” said the executive vice president of the league, Marcel Patenaude. “Joel Bouchard and his team of teachers are experts in many fields and this association positions the QMJHL as a leader in athlete development.”

Former QMJHL (Longueuil College-French and French-Verdun College) and NHL player, Joël Bouchard founded his own academy six years ago.

“I started playing hockey at the age of 5. I spent countless hours in ice rinks training and improving myself and I also had the privilege of playing in the National Hockey League, with the best hockey players in the world” Bouchard said. "It is a privilege to join the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League to perfect their players’ development within this new program. "

Please note that the first development camp, the Combine, will be held from the 22nd to the 24th of April 2011. The second development camp will be held once again at the Centre d’Excellence Sports Rousseau. The Joël Bouchard Hockey Academy will host the young hopefuls selected during the annual QMJHL draft, which will be held in Victoriaville, for five days of on and off ice instruction, from August 1st to the 5th.
