Andrew Langan to lead Slammers in 2011-12

Press Release

The Woodstock Slammers are proud to announce their captain for the 2011-2012 season. The Slammers have named Andrew Langan team captain.

Langan has recorded 52 goals and 69 assists in 113 regular season games and has also contributed 9 goals and 22 assists in 33 playoff games. Langan was a member of the 2009-2010 Kent Cup Championship team.

"It's an honour to be named the captain of the Woodstock Slammers. The Slammers organization prides itself on their winning tradition. I feel we have a strong core returning and with the addition of the new players I believe we have the pieces to be a contender. I've won a championship and suffered a disappointed defeat last season and I will definitely draw on both of those experiences to get back where we belong. This team has had great leadership in the past and I look forward to being part of that tradition.

"Andrew has playoff experience and as he mentioned he can draw from those experiences. Andrew has won a championship and suffered disappointment last season. Our organization believes Andrew will be a great leader for us on and off the ice. We have a goal to which is to get back to the Kent Cup final but obviously there will be some road blocks down the road such as your competition and that will be the time for Andrew to lead" commented Head coach Jason Tatarnic.
