Generals Sign Goaltender Ken Appleby

Press Release

Oshawa Generals Head Coach & General Manager Chris DePiero announced today that the team has signed Goaltender Ken Appleby to a standard OHL agreement.

Appleby was originally selected by the Generals in the 2nd round, 35th overall in the 2011 OHL Priority Selection this past May. The 6-foot-5 goaltender had a tremendous year with the North Bay Trappers Midget AAA team where he posted a 2.19 goals against average in 21 games last season.

“Ken’s making a great first step in his development by joining the Generals organization,” said Generals Head Coach and General Manager Chris DePiero. “We look forward to helping Ken achieve his dreams.”

Appleby recently took part in Team Ontario’s final Under-17 Provincial Camp which took place in Thunder Bay, Ontario from July 6th through 10th.

“We feel that with some continued hard work and dedication that he will be a key part of this team in the future.”

The Generals have now signed their two top picks from this past year’s draft after they signed 1st round selection Cole Cassels last week.
